Where Are You Based?

https://wordpress.com/alp/?aff=21927&cid=2736440Ever since I came to know about the health benefits of Avocado pear,It became my favorite. I loved the fruit in so much that I thought of having it in my garden.

A particular day,I had reached out for four avocado seeds in the fruits baskets in my kitchen and decided to plant it. At least that would serve as a respite for me.

Few weeks into planting, the stem and branches had shoot out and few leaves were already on it. I smiled as I touched the leaves and couldn’t wait to pluck them when they are fully ripe.

As I was walking away,a neighbor of mine beckoned at me( apparently he had been watching me at his verandah) and said something that struck me. “Madam,I’m sorry to bother you,but I just wanted to let you know that the avocado plant will not thrive well interms of growth and development in the environment you planted it. I meant to say that,Avocados need a much bigger space than where it is right now. It seems you are going to choke it up and it would result in a retarded growth. Ultimately, that would hinder its full growth potential.” He said. “Oh! I see, thanks a bunch for this useful information. I never thought of that you know. I was only interested in having an avocado tree in my garden but didn’t take cognizance of the environmental conditions suitable for it.I am grateful once again.Really knowledge is light.” I responded. Two days after,I pulled the avocado stem out of the soil and threw it away. Though I felt bitter afterwards.

A bitter truth I must say and that is a lesson that is applicable to life itself. Many people today have become a cheap and poor relic of their true self; their identity been misplaced due to the environment they find themselves.

No matter the potentials you may claim to have,if you aren’t planted in the right environment, the chances of your survival is slim. It’s either your growth is stunted or it becomes retarded. There’s no amount of effort you may try to put in,it will amount to nothing simply because you are not well-positioned.

Your environment can be your mind, marriage, relationships, workplace, place of worship,or perhaps the exact location you live or where your workplace is.

If all your energy is spent on jostling for true joy and sense of fulfillment in the areas I mentioned above leaving you miserable and frustrated, then it’s time for a radical shift.

It’s time for you to be deliberate about your life. Go ahead and maximize your self-power. Make a change on anything that is obstructing the flow of positive energy into your life.

If your marriage isn’t bringing you true joy and fulfilment, try and look for things that will. Create something out of nothing. Look within and think of what makes you happy,go ahead and indulge in it. Afterall, being happy can never go out of style so says Lily Pulitzer.

When it comes to your relationships,it is easy to walk away if you are always misunderstood,or manipulated against your value propositions. If you have addressed your concerns with your partner but haven’t seen any improvement, you may need to have a rethink.

How about your workplace or place of worship? Watch out for the signs. It’s not just about joining a workforce or belonging to a particular congregation, If your life isn’t improving as it should,it probably means you need to step out and look for where it will. You have no apology for that.

“Plans are nothing, planning is everything.”says Dwight Eisenhower.

You can truly be happy and fulfilled when you are in the right place and with the right person or people. It’s that simple. Life becomes interesting and pleasant to live in just because you are finding fulfilment and inner peace where you are.

As Steve Maraboli once said, “Love yourself enough to create an environment in your life that is conducive to the nourishment of your personal growth. Allow yourself to let go of the people, thoughts, and situations that poison your wellbeing, cultivate a vibrant sorrounding and commit yourself to making the choices that will help you release the greatest expression of your unique beauty and purpose.”

In this world, you are either growing or dying so get in motion and grow-Lou Holtz
